Postpartum Doula, Infant Care Specialist
After working for almost 20 years as an infant nanny with multiple families, Lidia decided to build on her infant care experience and train to be a postpartum doula with Cornerstone Doula Training. Lidia knew that she was called to help new parents navigate that uncharted territory of the newborn period. She feels it's her job to work herself out of a job so you can confidently care for your baby on your own.
Lidia has always had a "motherly" personality and feels that she has learned so much from the families she has worked with over the years and through the birth of her own four children.
Lidia really enjoys showing new parents tips and tricks to help their new baby settle into a healthy sleeping and feeding routine.
Her calming personality and confident nature in caring for new babies is what families love the most.
Lidia wants to help you feel safe and confident in your new role. She breastfed all four of her own children and fully supports whatever decision you make to feed your baby. She will do everything she can to make sure you get that well deserved rest so you can focus on bonding with your new baby!

We hired Lidia as our postpartum night Doula and we feel so grateful for our experience with her. As first time parents we found having Lidia with us was instrumental to getting us to feel confident and secure on our new journey. She brings a wealth of experience and expertise to share, is kind and patient and we truly trusted her with our little one. We really felt she became part of the family. We recommend her without reservation.

We worked with Lidia Colindres as a postpartum doula. As soon as I got home from the hospital, I knew that I was in over my head and needed help. I struggled with breastfeeding and figuring out how to be a first time mom. Jennifer Darwin at GGDA helped us find Lidia.
Lidia quickly became part of the family. This was apparent to us as soon as our dog, who is very discerning, decided that she LOVED Lidia.
Lidia was an invaluable resource to me as I navigated the challenges of breastfeeding our daughter nightly. Her sunny disposition put me at ease and when we had questions about new things came up, she never pushed her own opinions, rather, she helped me make decisions on my own. As a new mom, you realize that everyone has strong opinions and wants to give you unsolicited advice. It can be overwhelming. I never felt this way with Lidia and I came to trust her deeply.
I'm so glad we welcomed Lidia into our home for the time we did. It made our entry into parenthood so much more pleasant and we couldn't be happier with our decision to work with her. She loved our daughter like we do and we're so grateful to have found her.

I looked into GGDA for postpartum support for my second child, born in June 2020. After my first child was born in 2015, I had heard how amazing a postpartum doula could be, so I knew it was something I was interested in for our second child. Additionally, the pandemic ensured that we would have no outside help or support, and we were staring down several long months of isolation with a newborn and a 4yo. I was worried about how we would get by emotionally and physically, and I needed to find help that would feel not only supportive of us as a family but also safe from COVID spread. GGDA fulfilled all of this and more, honestly, hiring GGDA was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life.
We did an initial intake interview with Jen Darwin, and she was incredibly knowledgeable about what kinds of support we would need postpartum, given that I was having a c-section and we had a 4-year-old running around the house. She also went over the extensive safety measures GGDA had implemented around COVID-19, which was our #1 concern.
Lidia was gifted at reading our daughter's cues, and even got her starting to sleep longer stretches at night. There was one night we had an incredibly warm San Francisco evening (and of course no air conditioning), and the baby was fussy all night. I was so thankful Lidia was there, only waking me when the baby was hungry. I got to sleep and was such a better parent the next day for it. Lidia also cooked for us, making a delicious soup a couple of times, part of which we still have frozen in the freezer.
Thank you Lidia and GGDA! We are so grateful to you for supporting our family with the important work you do.
